Tocavox

Your voice, afterwards too

Tocavox in your own voice

If you are going to lose your voice, or already have, Tocavox can speak in your own voice instead of a generic one. You do it yourself, in the app: record 2 to 3 minutes and your voice is ready in a moment. It only plays in your account.

How it works

  1. Sign in to TocavoxWith Google or your email, on your phone.
  2. Record in the appOn your board, tap «Edit» and then «Create my voice». The app guides you: you read a short script and describe a day of yours.
  3. Your voice turns on by itselfIn a few minutes «My voice» appears in the voice menu. Only you can hear it.

Is your surgery scheduled? Record before

This is the best moment: with your usual voice, no rush. If you can, record in the days before surgery.

Why does the app ask you to read two random sentences?

At the start and at the end of the recording, the app asks you to read two sentences made up on the spot. That's how we confirm the voice belongs to the person recording, so no one can create someone else's voice from audio found online.

Can't speak anymore?

If you have already lost your voice but have old recordings (WhatsApp voice messages, videos), request it from the app (Create my voice → "Request your voice with old recordings"). A relative or caregiver can do it too. Those voices aren't created automatically: a person on our team reviews them one by one. By creating or requesting your voice you accept the own voice terms (tocavox.com/en/terminos-voz).

The script (it's a reference)

Read it calmly first and change any words you wouldn't use: it should sound like you. What matters is not the exact text but speaking naturally, as in a conversation, in your usual tone. The voice copies how you speak: if you read slowly and flatly, it will come out slow and flat.

Part A · Calm narration (≈30 seconds)

Covers the sounds of English.

On Sunday morning, Rosie walked to the neighborhood market. She bought potatoes, corn, peppers and a juicy pineapple. The man on the corner, who always smiles, gave her a bunch of sunflowers. On her way back, the sky filled with gray clouds and a light drizzle began to fall over the streets.

Part B · Everyday phrases (≈45 seconds)

With questions, exclamations, numbers and dates. Leave a short pause between phrases.

Hello, good morning. How are you?

Could you help me, please? I need to be there by three in the afternoon.

Yes, of course. No, thank you. One moment, please.

That's great news! I'm so happy.

That's twelve fifty. Here's your change.

The appointment is on December twenty-fifth, at eleven thirty.

Sorry, I didn't hear you well. Could you repeat that?

Don't worry, everything will be fine.

Let me know when you get there. Thanks for everything. See you soon!

Part C · Without reading (≈30 to 60 seconds)

The part that makes your voice sound most natural.

In your own words, without reading, describe a full day of yours: when you get up, what you have for breakfast, what you do during the day, who you talk to, what you like to eat or do at the end of the day. Mistakes don't matter: what's valuable is the way you really speak.
